Victron Energy Smart BMS CL 12-100
Code: ABCT_A500007708Product detailed description
Victron Energy Smart BMS CL 12-100 Specially designed for use in vehicles and boats with 12V DC installation. Maximum current 100A. Battery Management System BMS The BMS is used to connect 12.8V Victron LiFePO4 (LFP) batteries to the system. Up to 5 batteries can be connected in parallel. The BMS can be used as an on/off switch for the system. Alternator and battery protection The input current is electronically limited to approximately 90% of the fuse rating. For example, a 100A fuse will limit the input current to approximately 90A. Selecting the correct fuse: a. Protects the LFP battery from excessive charging current (important in the case of a low capacity LFP battery). b. Will protect the alternator from overcharging in the case of a high capacity LFP battery (most 12V alternators will overheat and fail if run at maximum output for more than 5 minutes). Starter battery protection This feature is similar to the Cyrix Battery Combiner or Argo FET Battery Isolator. Current can only flow to the LFP battery if the input voltage (starter battery voltage) exceeds 13V. Current cannot flow back from the LFP battery to the starter battery, preventing possible damage to the LFP battery due to over-discharge. Li-ion battery protection Excessive input voltage and voltage spikes are regulated to a safe level. The Smart BMS CL will stop charging in the event of overvoltage or overheating of the cell. It has three outputs similar to a miniBMS: Load shedding output The load output is normally energized and will disconnect in the event of impending cell undervoltage (default is 2.8 V/cell, adjustable between 2.6 V and 2.8 V per cell). Maximum current: 10 mA. The Load output can be used to control the Battery Protect input, inverter, DC-DC converter or other loads. Output for pre-alarm The pre-alarm output can be used as a warning when the battery voltage is low, and will turn on shortly before deactivating the load disconnect output due to insufficient cell voltage. The pre-alarm output can be used to control a relay, LED or buzzer. It can be configured as a continuous or intermittent signal. The pre-alarm output is normally off and will turn on in the event of impending cell undervoltage (default 3.1 V/cell, adjustable between 2.85 V and 3.15 V per cell). Maximum current: 1A (not short-circuit protected) The minimum delay between the pre-alarm output switching on and the load disconnection is 30 seconds. 30 seconds to disconnect the charge output The charging output is normally active and will deactivate in the event of impending overvoltage or overheating. Maximum current: 10 mA. The charging output is not suitable for powering inductive loads such as relay coils or contactors. The charge output can be used to control: remote on/off charger, Cyrix-Li-Charge relay, Cyrix-Li-ct battery jumper. (Note: in some cases a jumper cable will be required, see manual.) Remote on/off control The on/off remote control controls charging by the alternator. When off, alternator charging is disabled while the BMS function remains active so that all loads and chargers can continue to operate regardless of the remote control status. If the "system on/off switch" is disabled using the VictronConnect app, the BMS function will also be disabled. The connector contains two contacts, Remote L and Remote H. The switch or relay contacts connect to the non-H and L contacts. Alternatively, the BMS can be turned on by connecting the H contact to the plus pole, or the L contact to the minus pole of the battery. Ignition protection The BMS does not contain relays, but MOSFET switches that do not spark or produce voltage spikes.Additional parameters
