Building your own battery storage from LiFePO4 cells? Do not skimp on insulation. This ultra-thin yet exceptionally tough FR4 epoxy sheet, measuring 0.5 × 200 × 170 mm, is a decisive safety element of any professional LiFePO4 kit.

Prismatic (box-type) cells swell and shrink slightly as they go through charging cycles. Without enough insulation between the aluminium casings, the blue insulating film may be pierced, leading to a disastrous short circuit. This sheet was designed for precisely that job.
