HydroLock is a professional non-hardening sealing yarn for threaded pipe connections in metal and plastic piping. Because the yarn never cures, a joint wrapped with HydroLock can be pressurised and tested straight away, unlike hemp-and-paste methods or hardening compounds that need time to set.

Each strand is built from more than 200 reinforcing fibres, giving it the strength to wrap tightly and evenly around a thread. The fibres follow the thread profile and, combined with the yarn's wetting properties, form a durable, even barrier that resists leaks caused by vibration or minor thread imperfections.

How to apply it

Wind the yarn onto the male thread in the direction of tightening, starting a thread or two from the pipe end. Apply with light, even tension so the fibres bed into the thread grooves, then screw the fitting on as usual. Trim or tuck away any excess yarn once the joint is tight.
