Maychem Mayline SOLAR cleaner IVAR.SOLAR, 1 l, for glycol solar and heating circuits, 10–20 % dosing – SALE
Code: IVA1/MYSOLProduct detailed description
Key facts
- Mayline SOLAR by Maychem, type IVAR.SOLAR, 1 l pack
- alkaline liquid, pH 8.7, with dispersing additives
- dilution strictly 10–20 % (10–20 l per 100 l of water)
- circulation time 60–120 min, up to 240 min for heavily fouled systems
- system temperature during cleaning max. 65 °C
Where it is used
Under prolonged high temperatures, the glycol-based heat transfer fluid in solar circuits degrades: it darkens, becomes more viscous and leaves hard deposits that narrow the pipes while acidity builds up. The cleaner removes these deposits, sediment and organic sludge from solar systems as well as from heating systems using glycol mixtures, and can be used with steel, copper, aluminium and their seals.
Good to know
Before cleaning, drain the old fluid and any additives such as antifreeze, self-sealing fluid or brine. The solution is circulated with an external pump, ideally in the morning or with the collectors covered. Afterwards drain it, neutralise with Mayline Neutro and flush thoroughly with mains water. A conductivity rise of about 1200 µS/cm compared with mains water serves as a check. Refill solar circuits only with non-toxic propylene glycol antifreeze, for example Mayline FS or FSP. The liquid causes serious eye damage (H318): wear gloves and goggles, store away from children and protect from frost.

Frequently asked questions
How long should the cleaning solution circulate?
Circulate it with an external pump for 60–120 minutes. In heavily fouled systems, replace the solution and allow a total of 240 minutes, without letting the system temperature exceed 65 °C.
What should the solar circuit be refilled with after cleaning?
Once the solution has been drained, the system neutralised with Mayline Neutro and flushed with mains water, refill solar circuits only with non-toxic propylene glycol based antifreeze, such as Mayline FS or FSP.
Is Mayline SOLAR acidic or alkaline?
It is alkaline, with a pH of 8.7, and contains dispersing agents that loosen deposits, sediment and organic sludge.
