SAFE 808L flammable and explosive gas detector (natural gas)
Code: ABCT_A500008913Product detailed description
SAFE-808L flammable and explosive gas detector with battery backup, digital display and unique voice warning function in Czech language. The SAFE 808L is a hardware upgraded version of the intelligent detector equipped with the latest second generation solid-state multifunction sensor technology for detection and early warning of the presence of almost all flammable and explosive gases: - natural gas - methane - propane - butane The device excels in stability, high sensitivity and long sensor life. Ideally suited for detecting gas leaks from all domestic gas appliances and gas boilers. It detects all flammable gases commonly found in households. Digital display For a more comfortable overview and control of the situation in the event of an alarm, the SAFE 808L detector has a backlit digital display that shows the values of the detected combustible gas in units of ppm (or millionths). The digital display allows its users to distinguish and compare low and high values of potential danger in order to react adequately to an emerging situation or to specify the concentration of a leak in the event of a report to a service organization. Unique voice warning function It informs the user with a human voice (in English) about the current status of the device, such as "Welcome to the flammable gas detector, please wait 3 minutes, the device is initializing." In case of a detected danger, the detector's acoustic alarm signal is then accompanied by a repeated message informing about the detected danger: "PLEASE ATTENTION! GAS LEAK!". The voice warning is thus a great help for the user to immediately distinguish the information messages issued by the device. Maximum reliability The multifunctional integrated sensor detector meets the highest European safety standards and is certified and calibrated to EN 50194 (standard for electrical equipment for the detection of flammable gases) without the additional need for periodic service calibration. The device is microprocessor controlled and signals gas leaks both optically and acoustically. The second generation sensor performs continuous air testing for the presence of dangerous levels of gas concentration in the monitored area. The uncompromising guardian of safety Most flammable and explosive gases are normally odourless. Therefore, to make them easily detectable by smell in the event of a leak, most gases are coloured (odoured) with special chemicals. Whether the gas is odorized or not, the SAFE 808L detector sensor is factory configured to reliably detect gases to trigger an alarm before a certain concentration threshold is reached, which if further increased poses a potential hazard risk, and safely protect your health and property. Protection even in the event of a power failure Solid-state catalytic combustion sensors for the detection of flammable and explosive gases require a constant power supply from the mains. The SAFE 808L detector is powered from the 230 V / AC mains, but unlike most conventional detectors, it has an integrated fast-charging converter and a tray to accommodate a 9 V NiMH backup battery (battery not included as standard), which provides maximum protection for a certain interval in the event of a mains power failure. Function test The detector is equipped with a TEST button with a function that serves to simulate the presence of gas artificially and allows the operability of the internal circuits to be verified through an automatic efficiency monitoring system. The SAFE - 808L gas detector is ideally suited for detecting gas leaks from all domestic gas appliances and gas boilers. It detects all combustible gases commonly found in households. The device is powered from a 230V/AC mains supply with a 9V NiMH battery backup in case of mains power failure. Areas of application Residential areas with kitchens equipped with gas stoves, domestic boiler rooms with equipment burning natural gas, propane-butane or rooms where gas equipment is located, such as: gas cylinders, tanks, gas pipes, garages for gas-powered cars, school chemistry and physics workshops and laboratories. Where to install a detector? We install combustible and explosive gas detectors in rooms with potential gas leaks (gas boiler rooms, kitchens, rooms with wavettes, karma, instantaneous heaters, thermometers, etc.). The basic criterion for the correct placement of the detector is the identification of the gas, i.e. whether we detect light gas (rising up to the ceiling) or heavy gas (falling to the floor). According to this criterion we will choose the installation location. We always install the gas detector on the wall, depending on the type of gas detected, either below the ceiling (approx. 15-30 cm) or above the floor (approx. 15-30 cm), at a distance of at least 1.2 m from the fuel-burning appliance to minimize false alarms that may occur during a short gas leak, for example when a gas boiler or stove is ignited, and at a distance of approx. 60 cm from the corners, i.e. the point where two walls converge. Properties of gases and their mass relative to air - Propane butane (LPG), petroleum substances: heavier than air, sinks to the floor. - Carbon monoxide (CO), natural gas (LNG, CNG), ethylene: Lighter than air, rises to the ceiling. What is natural gas? Natural gas is piped into your house. Unless you live in a rural area, you probably use natural gas. It is the predominant energy for heating homes. Natural gas is a fossil fuel containing almost exclusively methane. Methane is much lighter than air and rises upward when it escapes. If you are a natural gas user, it is recommended that you install this detection device about 30 cm from the ceiling to ensure that a gas leak is caught as quickly as possible. What is propane? Propane is most commonly supplied to homes in liquid form and is stored near the home in propane tanks. Propane is used in homes in rural areas where natural gas is not piped in. Since propane is the most commonly used LPG (liquefied petroleum gas), propane and LPG are often used with the same meaning. Unlike natural gas, propane is much heavier than air and stays low to the ground. It is therefore recommended that this detection device be installed low to the floor to ensure that a gas leak is caught as quickly as possible. It is therefore important to protect your family and home with combustible gas detectors.
