At G1/2, this is the compact end of the check valve range — small enough to sit directly on a radiator tail, a boiler inlet or an individual appliance connection without eating into installation space, yet built to the same 10 bar rating as its larger siblings.
Once fitted, the brass spindle-guided disc opens under forward flow and seats shut the moment flow reverses, stopping water (or heating medium) from running back through the branch it protects.
