This valve is the return-side partner to the red supply valve - the same straight brass construction threads in-line onto the manifold body and lets one circuit be shut off independently for balancing or repair. Its built-in dial thermometer shows the return temperature of that loop directly on the valve, which is handy for checking how much heat a circuit has actually given up before the water heads back to the boiler. The blue handle is the standard colour code for the return line, so it's never confused with the supply valve.
