G5/4 sits above the standard domestic branch sizes and is more often found on a larger distribution main — feeding a multi-radiator heating zone or a shared riser serving several apartments — where the volume passing through is greater.
As with the rest of the range, the brass spindle keeps the disc guided so it opens under forward flow and closes immediately on reversal, protecting whatever section of pipework sits behind it.
