UNIMIX - universal assembly, without cabinet - 3/4 "xEK; 9-way; DAB.EVOSTA2 40-70/130; brass IVAR.UNIMIX

Product detailed description

The IVAR UNIMIX universal assembly is a modular system designed for use in hydronic heating applications, particularly in mixed systems combining floor heating with radiators. It is commonly used in residential and commercial buildings where precise temperature control and flow management are required. Installers working with underfloor heating systems will find this unit suitable for integrating into systems with multiple zones and varying load demands. The unit is designed for installation in mechanical rooms or service areas, where space is limited but accessibility is essential for maintenance and adjustment.

As a complete assembly, it is ideal for systems where a central mixing and balancing point is required. The unit is particularly suited for applications where temperature regulation and flow control are critical, such as in multi-room heating systems or in buildings with high thermal inertia. The inclusion of a circulation pump and a three-way mixing valve allows for efficient heat distribution and system balancing, ensuring even heat delivery across all zones.

Technical parameters

Material	Brass CW617N
Operating temperature	+90 °C
Nominal pressure	PN 6
Code	557677UBS
Brand	IVAR

The operating temperature of +90 °C and nominal pressure rating of PN 6 are essential for determining system compatibility and component selection. These parameters ensure the unit can handle standard heating system pressures and temperatures, making it suitable for most residential and light commercial applications. The brass construction (CW617N) provides good corrosion resistance and mechanical strength, which is important for long-term performance in closed heating systems.

Installation and connection

The unit is connected via an internal 3/4 inch female thread, which must be matched with the corresponding pipe fittings during installation. The assembly includes mounting brackets for secure installation, either wall-mounted or in a dedicated enclosure. During installation, it is essential to verify that all connections are tight and leak-free, particularly at the pump and valve interfaces. A common mistake is incorrect alignment of the flow meters and balancing throttles, which can lead to inaccurate readings and poor system performance. Ensure that the unit is installed in a location that allows for easy access to all components for future maintenance and adjustments.

Compatibility and accessories

The UNIMIX assembly is compatible with standard floor heating and radiator systems. It is designed to work with the DAB.EVOSTA2 40-70/130 circulation pump, which is included in the assembly. The unit includes flow meters, shut-off valves, and a bypass for system balancing. Additional components such as the IVAR.AC 614 E thermostat may be required for pump control, as the pump shutdown is not included in the standard assembly. The enclosure must be specified at the time of order, with options for wall-mounted, floor-mounted, or no enclosure. Accessories such as temperature sensors and expansion vessels should be selected based on the specific system requirements.

Technical background for designers

The UNIMIX unit operates by combining a circulation pump with a three-way mixing valve to regulate the temperature of the heating medium. The brass CW617N material is selected for its durability and resistance to corrosion in closed heating systems. The inclusion of a balancing throttle allows for precise flow control, which is essential for maintaining even heat distribution across multiple zones. The system integrates into the overall heating network via standard pipe connections and is designed to work with thermostats and control systems for automated temperature regulation. The service life and efficiency of the unit are influenced by the quality of the installation, the cleanliness of the system, and the regularity of maintenance checks.

Service and operation

Regular maintenance is essential to ensure the continued performance of the unit. This includes checking for leaks, verifying the operation of the pump and valves, and ensuring that the flow meters are functioning correctly. The system should be flushed periodically according to the manufacturer's instructions to remove any debris or contaminants that may affect performance. It is also recommended to treat the heating system with a preparation such as GEL.LONG LIFE 100 to extend the life of the components and prevent corrosion. No specific service intervals are provided in the brief, but routine inspections are advised to identify and address any potential issues early.
